Lenn Nijs opened his WSK season at Franciacorta with a weekend that was not easy but where he showed speed.
The Belgian driver also returned to racing in Italy with his first WSK 2023 event on the Franciacorta circuit, the same track that will host the OK Senior World Championship at the end of the year.
In this new category, Nijs is trying to learn quickly and put into practice during track sessions. In this second round of the WSK Super Master Series, Lenn did not have an easy task, but he showed good speed from which to start the next races.
In fact, the qualifying session was convincing with the Kart Republic team driver able to place sixth in Group A with an excellent lap time.
Starting in the advanced positions in the heats was a goal Lenn wanted, despite the great battles in the middle of the group that led him to complete his heat programme with a good seventh place in recovery, a P19 and a forced retirement.
During the pre-final, Nijs was still in recovery but unfortunately was forced to retire, which did not allow him to qualify for the final. A result that obviously does not satisfy the driver but does not erase the good progress made at the second race in the new category.
