A good weekend for the Belgian driver on the Cremona circuit at the last WSK Super Master Series round before the next European commitments.
Lenn Nijs showed great performance growth at the recent WSK Promotion round on the Cremona circuit. A leap forward that has seen Lenn among the protagonists in the OK Senior category and that bodes well for the next appointments.
The first good result came immediately for the Kart Republic driver, starting from the qualifying where he managed to complete the best lap in 46.456 valid for the 11th overall time and third for group A.
Four heats between Friday and Saturday with several emotions for Lenn including a good third place overall in the first direct confrontation, a seventh and a ninth place, concluded with a 12th place finish. All very good performances that allowed the Belgian driver to have high hopes for the pre-final as well.
Unfortunately, a penalty ‘slowed down’ Nijs’ weekend, who finished 17th in the pre-final after a ten-second penalty but qualified for the category final anyway.
During the final, Nijs had to juggle battles in the middle of the group. He definitely showed that he had a very good race pace, recovering eight positions and finishing in 13th place in the final.
A result that could have been even better but which injects Nijs with a good dose of confidence in view of the next races starting this weekend when he will be engaged in Trinec (Czech Republic) in the second round of the Champions Of The Future RGMMC.
