The Sarno weekend also put the finishing touches to the WSK Euro Series 2024 where Oleksandr Legenkyi finished second in the race and third in the general classification.
It was a last summer weekend at the Circuito Internazionale Napoli with great emotions and, as always, great positive responses from the Ukrainian driver, always among the favourites in his category.
Fifth place in qualifying, third in his own session, put Alex in the best condition to be able to think only about the fight for the lead in the classification. An ideal situation that already paid off in the first heat with victory in the first heat and four positions recovered. Another comeback in the second heat closed in second place and with the fastest lap of the race in 1.05.866. The third and final heat was not as good as the other two, but nevertheless the final number eight position allowed Alex to qualify in second place for the Pre-final of the Mini Gr.3 category.
It was a hard-fought race that opened Sunday morning at Sarno, where Alex finished in fourth position overall.
The final was obviously the primary objective for the Ukrainian driver who started from Pole Position thanks to his previous results. From the start onwards it was a beautiful, hard-fought and error-free race. After the tussle, on lap 3, Alex found himself in P5, but thanks to his good pace he managed to recover position after position up to P2, thus ending the race on the podium and securing third place in the overall classification of the WSK Euro Series 2024.
