The weekend in Lonato saw Remigiusz Samczyk being competitive again in OKJ.
After the good race in Sarno and the podium in the Trofeo di Primavera, Remek arrived in Lonato with the desire to do well and be competitive. Aim achieved right from the start with another great show of maturity from the Polish driver who, during qualifying, set the fourth best time overall and first for Group D.
Excellent start that led Samczyk to replicate the good performance during the heats as well. Double P2, P6 and P13 in the last heat due to various battles on the track. A good run secured Remek the fourth starting position in Prefinal B.
Sunday’s rain took everyone by surprise and shuffled the cards on the table. After a good start, unfortunately the Fusion Motorsport driver was forced to retire while fighting for first position.
Bad luck also in the final where, again thanks to a good start, Remigiusz had managed to recover from P17 to P6 before having to retire.
A bitter epilogue but one that does not in any way cancel out a good weekend of great growth and competitiveness ahead of Franciacorta.
Remek would like to thank his team, his mechanic Krzysztof, IAME, all his sponsors and his family.
