Double weekend at La Conca for Oleksandr Legenkyi, engaged in the second round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship.

At the previous weekend at the Apulian circuit of La Conca, the ukrainian had hinted at good potential, which was also confirmed at the second round of the Italian National Championship.

The track at La Conca always offers great insights to drivers and this was also the case for Alex, who was again very competitive throughout the weekend. Qualifying on Friday was as always in full 60 Mini style with very tight laps between the drivers and an excellent third place in his own session and fifth overall time of 51.939 for the young driver.

The two Group B heats were just as hard-fought, starting with the first where Legenkyi, following a yellow flag period, was fighting for the top five positions only to be forced to retire a lap before the end. This outcome did not demoralise Alex, who mastered his race pace and was one of the protagonists in the second heat where he managed to maintain his fourth starting position by finishing with the fastest lap in the race.

Oleksandr had loaded up for Race 1, the first of the weekend. Also on this occasion, good speed shown but a bit of bad luck did not allow the driver to close the race where he deserved, competing for the top five, due to a racing episode on the last lap.
The second race at La Conca then allowed the Ukrainian driver to perform at his best despite starting from an unfavourable position. Eighteenth place overall but with a good fifteen positions recovered from the start and still the fastest lap of the race.

A very positive weekend in terms of speed and competitiveness that will serve to be ready for the next race of the Italian ACI Championship scheduled in a month’s time at Val Vibrata.
