Another convincing and functional result for Cristian Bertuca, on the podium at Sarno and firmly at the top of the WSK Super Master Series KZ2 general classification.
Third podium in a row on the third different track, constant speed and determination. This is how Cristian Bertuca also sent to the archives the weekend on the Circuito Internazionale Napoli, experienced as a complete protagonist and useful to widen the gap in the standings.
Even on the italian circuit, the ‘Cannibal’ was able to steer his work in the right direction starting with his own qualifying session completed with the third best time overall and pole position for Group C. From Friday to Saturday a practically clean sweep for Bertuca, author of three victories out of four heats and a sixth place that was harmless for the purposes of the combined classification which, on Saturday evening, saw him in first place overall and in pole position for Prefinal A.
In the same pre-final on Sunday morning, Bertuca did his best to stay in the top positions after a hard-fought start, maximising his third place and securing the second starting row for the afternoon.
In the final it was again a super start for the Birel Art driver, who was able to take the lead immediately, passing first already on lap four. Race managed with experience from the first position until the great tussle of the last three laps with his own teammates, clean and spectacular fight that in the end saw Bertuca cross the finish line in a sprint for third place overall.
Another eighty-two points earned by the Italian driver, who is still the leader of the overall classification with a 93-point lead over second place and only one race to go in Cremona (27-30 April).
C.Bertuca: “Obviously I wanted to win, I was in the lead until a few laps from the finishing line, but in any case, the third podium in a row is certainly very important for the advantage in the overall standings. I would like to thank Birel Art, TM, Viti Racing and my mechanic Luciano Memoli for their great work. Special thanks also to my sponsors and my family. We are ready to close this WSK Super Master Series at Cremona”.
Cristian Bertuca will be back on track next week for the 34th Andrea Margutti Trophy at the South Garda Karting of Lonato.
