The Franciacorta round saw Nikita Ljubimov among the protagonists in the Mini Max RMC Euro Trophy category.
It was an appointment that the Estonian driver was looking forward to, especially to test himself on a track as technical and important as the Italian circuit of Franciacorta. Nikita started the weekend in the best possible way, studying the track session after session in free practice, doing his best together with his team-mate Bouvin Power.
In qualifying, unfortunatelly Nikita did not managed to put it all together, with overtakes in fastest laps it was unpossible to set pole position time and finally only third time in his session and fifth overall.
The three heats between Friday and Saturday were decisive for the rest of the weekend. After a good second place in the first heat, in the second and third heats, Nikita was able to make the difference by winning on both occasions, finishing second overall and in pole position for Prefinal B.
Unfortunately a problem deprived Nikita of the start in Prefinal B that could have consolidated his result. In any case, starting P8 in the Mini Max final, the Estonian driver drove a very good race under a sudden but very consistent rain.
The first laps were chaotic and Ljubimov managed to stay out of trouble, but get contacted and get small damage in kart. Still he was finishing fifth by improving his line lap after lap. Tenth place under the chequered flag to round off the weekend.
Nikita thanks all his team Bouvin Power, his mechanic, the Rotax staff, everyone who supports him and of course his family.
