Oleksandr Legenkyi on the podium of the last round of the Italian Karting Championship

A good weekend finished in the best way for the driver of the ‘Team Driver’ team, which is also worth the sixth place in the overall standings just one point away from the Top Five.

The appointment in Lonato put the finishing touches to the Italian Championship of Alex Legenkyi, always among the protagonists in the Mini Gr.3 category with podiums and noteworthy placings along all five weekends of the 2024 season.

Qualifying at Lonato had seen Alex start from P6 in his qualifying group and P11 in the overall classification. A good placing that allowed him to fight in the Group B heats.

Two high-level heats, especially the first one where the Ukrainian driver recovered four positions to finish third. Eighth place instead in the second heat and seventh place on the starting grid for Race 1, guaranteed by the combined classification.

The very first race of the weekend saw Alex be among the best protagonists. Even in this case there were four positions recovered, which allowed the driver to aspire to the high classification, finishing on the podium with an excellent third place just +0.064sec behind second place.

In Race 2, Alex would have repeated the comeback in all likelihood but unfortunately a contact did not allow him to do so, however he made up for it with a good sixth place, retaining his starting position.
A satisfying weekend that closes a big chapter of the season in the best possible way. The Top Five touched in the overall standings is promising for the future of this season starting with the next races, the last ones in 2024.

Alex thanks the whole team, his mechanic, KR and IAME, all his family and of course the sponsors.
