The weekend at La Conca was certainly a special one for Oleksandr Legenkyi, who made a great recovery up to the second position of the podium.
A great challenge for the Team Driver on one of the most technical and historical Italian circuits such as La Conca. A final result that repays the driver for all the great progress made up to this point.
After free practice, Alex had already shown good pace but unfortunately a technical problem did not allow him to complete his qualifying session, forcing him into last position. An episode that did not demoralise the Ukrainian driver in the slightest, who had only one objective in mind from that moment on: to recover positions.
A mission that Alex began right from the first heat by recovering eighteen positions and finishing in P13 with the fastest lap of the race. In the second heat another recovery up to P17 with another fourteen positions recovered. The best recovery ever was in the third heat with twenty-three positions recovered and the final P8. Incredible improvement that led him to start in P12 for the pre-final where, even on that occasion, he confirmed his great potential by arriving in P4 with another eight positions recovered and the certainty of starting the final in the top ten.
The last act of the weekend at La Conca saw Legenkyi finish at his best, maximising everything he had done so far. The battle from start to finish was excellent with overtaking and tricky moments managed to perfection. Another eight improved positions and second place overall under the chequered flag not far from victory.
A fantastic result for the Team Driver driver who, thanks to the points obtained, has finalised the overall classification of the WSK Open Series in third position, a worthy reward for all the efforts made.
Oleksandr would like to thank Team Driver, IAME, KR and his mechanic for their great work over the weekend, his sponsors and of course his family. The driver will be back on track this weekend for the second round of the Italian ACI Karting Championship, right on the La Conca circuit.
